Anyone interested in exploring their family history can join a genealogy workshop at the Oneida County History Center on May 3, 2025. This workshop is designed for individuals of all experience levels. Attendees will receive expert guidance on how to access historical records, utilize online databases, and effectively trace their lineage. Tickets for this program are $10 for members and $15 for non-members. Preregistration is required through the History Center’s website or by calling 315-735-3642.
Professional genealogist/historian Pamela Vittorio will discuss how less-frequently used or unfamiliar sources can help fill in gaps in your family history. When passenger lists, birth records, or censuses are missing, where can you look for your ancestors to prove their identities or relationships? Find out what might be hidden in the branches of your family tree at this genealogy workshop. Participants are encouraged to bring information on the individuals they are researching and, if convenient, laptops.
Pamela Vittorio is a professional historian and genealogist. She manages the “Finding Their Routes – Family History & Genealogy” Facebook page, does research for a variety of clients and is a member of the Association of Professional Genealogists.
