Sovena USA of Rome, one of the largest olive oil companies in the world, participated in and sponsored multiple events hosted by The American Heart Association in efforts to raise awareness and funds for lifesaving cardiovascular research and initiatives.
On February 7, Sovena’s employees wore red together to support the American Heart Association’s Go Red for Women initiative. Go Red for Women® (Go Red) is the American Heart Association’s global initiative to end heart disease and stroke in women. Launched in 2004 to close the gap in awareness, Go Red quickly expanded into a worldwide movement dedicated to removing the barriers women face to achieving good health and wellbeing.
On March 8, Sovena USA forged a team of 14 people and participated in and sponsored America’s Greatest Heart Run and Walk event. The event aims to bring awareness to the No. 1 killer of all Americans (cardiovascular disease) and provides an opportunity to raise funds for lifesaving science. With the support of companies like Sovena USA, the American Heart Association works to improve the health and well-being of New York residents while saving and improving countless lives.
In support of the American Heart Association’s Go Red for Women mission, Sovena employees will attend the Go Red for Women luncheon at the Delta Hotels by Marriott Utica on May 1 to learn more about the initiative and hear from those that have been affected by heart disease. Every year, Sovena donates Extra Virgin Olive Oil to use in the meals at the luncheon and will also sponsor the event. Sovena helped bring this mission of the American Heart Association to life, focusing on the critical community issues going beyond the table.
Living a balanced and healthy lifestyle is at the core of Sovena’s values and their products. Extra virgin olive oil is rich in many vitamins and nutrients that are good for your heart, and it can help fight heart disease as it raises “good” cholesterol (HDL) and lowers “bad” cholesterol (LDL). Because it is a great source of monosaturated fatty acids, antioxidants, vitamin E and more, it helps reduce the risk of heart disease, while simultaneously making your food taste delicious.
