WHAT: Utica School Board Candidate Tennille Knoop has scheduled a press conference to present her three-point plan to address the mental health crisis in our schools.
WHY: Students across the state are facing an unprecedented mental health crisis; the U.S Surgeon General recently declared a national emergency for child and adolescent mental health. Knoop will call upon the Utica City School Administration to question the lack of funding that is being dispensed to meet this crisis head on. She will address the $56 million the district received from the American Rescue Plan, as well the funding recently allocated in the Governor’s final Enacted Budget, designed to deal with mental health and loss of learning as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
WHEN: Wednesday, April 13th at 11 am
WHERE: In front of Proctor High School
NOTES: Tennille Knoop will be available to answer school board-related questions.
