New York model train fair returns to fairgrounds

Returning to the fairgrounds this weekend is the Great New York State Model Train Fair.

Typically, around 6,000 train enthusiasts come out to see the model trains.

More than 30 operating layouts will be on display, and over 300 vendors will assist visitors in starting their own model railroad.

Event organizers say the event is the largest model train show in the Empire State.

“This is a family friendly type show which is very unique amongst most model train shows,” CNY National Railway Historical Society President Philip Edwards said. “We have a lot of exhibits and hands-on type of trains.”

The show rolls in Saturday and runs through Sunday.

Kids 15 and under can enter free.
