The Gerrit Smith Estate National Historic Landmark is pleased to present the Peterboro Freedom Folk Festival at 3 pm on Saturday, June 21 for Peterboro Juneteenth Weekend at 5304 Oxbow Road, Peterboro NY 13134.

The musicians to perform:

The Cadleys are one of the most popular acoustic bands in the Northeast. Following in the
tradition of great male-female duets like George Jones and Tammy Wynette, Gillian Welch and David Rawlings, and Emmylou Harris and Gram Parsons, John and Cathy show how two voices blended in seamless harmony can produce one powerful sound. John's songs have been recorded by national bluegrass artists Jim Hurst, Missy Raines, Tony Trischka, Amy Gallatin, and Lou Reid, who took John's song "Time" to the #1 spot on the national bluegrass charts. Rounding out the band is first-call veteran
bassist John Dancks, a member of the Syracuse Area Music Hall of Fame.

Rod MacDonald began his career in the Greenwich Village music scene of the 1980-90s, where he headlined local clubs and concerts and co-founded the Greenwich Village Folk Festival. He recorded 21 songs for the Smithsonian collection. Rod's songs have been covered by Shawn Colvin, Garnet Rogers, Jonathan Edwards, Dave Van Ronk, Joe Jencks, Four Bitchin' Babes and a few dozen others. He has 14 CDs, and the last four have made the top ten on the national Folk DJ charts. He has performed on
major festival stages around the world and has done 50+ tours in Europe.

Sean Ceilly is a musician & singer songwriter from the Cleveland, NY area who plays a combination of blues, jazz standards, folk, and folk rock covers. He performs on guitar, banjo, and harmonica. Sean's influences are Charley Patton, Robert Johnson, Lonnie Johnson, Mose Allison, Leadbelly, Pete Seeger, Dave Van Ronk, and Grant Green, to name a few. Contemporary musicians that Sean listens to frequently are Marcus King, Jerron Paxton, and The Dip.
