Unitarian Universalist Church announces online service

UU Utica Service Description
May 8, 2022
Mothers’ Day of Peace
Rev Karen Brammer
Service with our minister, Rev. Karen Brammer. “Arise, then, women of this day!” is the first line of the Mother’s Day Proclamation written by poet and social reformer, Julia Ward Howe (also writer of the “Battle Hymn of the Republic”). She published this proclamation, writes historian Robert Goff, “in response to the horrors of the Franco-Prussian War.” In this service we’ll build a connection between ourselves, those who served individually as our mother figures, and growing peace from the inside out. *If you would like,  bring an image of your mother figure(s) to the church, or send an image to be included in a power point that will be shared in the service
