The Incident

- The Syracuse Police Department and the Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office were jointly tracking a vehicle that had previously eluded police.
- Two Syracuse police officers attempted to stop the suspicious vehicle but were unsuccessful. However, they managed to obtain the license plate number.
- The officers traced the vehicle to an address on Darien Drive in Liverpool.
- Realizing that the suspect might be armed, the Syracuse officers requested assistance from the sheriff’s office.
- Exchange of Gunfire:
- As they approached the residence, the officers heard sounds resembling someone manipulating a firearm from inside.
- At least one suspect exchanged gunfire with the officers.
- Tragic Outcome:
- The Syracuse police officer, the sheriff’s deputy, and the suspect were all shot during the confrontation.
- They were transported to Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse.
