Thousands of Toys will be distributed to local charities through the Capital Region Saturday. It’s part of the Toys for Tots convoy.
A group of Marine Corps Reservists and volunteers from Dunkin Donuts loaded toys onto tractor trailers Friday.
Toys have been collected since October 1st.
“What has happened is that all of the volunteers that have been to this point have sorted, have categorized, bagged and then tagged all of these toys,” Staff Sgt. Patrick Lurenz, Capital Region Toys for Tots coordinator, said. “Every single one of these bags have at least 10 toys in it in a specific age and gender category. Every place that works with these folks and community. They have put in bulk orders and that’s what we’re filling.”
And if you want to help this effort, there is still time to donate. There are 400 donation locations across the Capital Region taking toys until Christmas Eve. You can find the full list on the Toys for Tots website.
