A 10-year-old from Tioga County is breaking records just in time for the fall season. Grayson Zorn grew a massive, 544 pound pumpkin to win the Tioga County 4H Pumpkin growing contest.
The previous record, set back in 2017 was recorded at 464 pounds.
Grayson spent months growing it on his family farm and says he’ll be back next year to try to break his own record. The pumpkins were later auctioned off, with Grayson’s selling for a whopping $550.
The champion says all the hard work was worth it.
“It’s really fun because you can think of it as a really big result once the pumpkin gets really big,” said Zorn.
The winning pumpkin was purchased by the owner of American Family Fitness in Vestal.
