DETAILS:          Fourteen-year-old Patrick Younglove, a Madison County resident, is courageously battling cancer. Patrick lives with his parents, Jenn and Peter Younglove, and his sister, Jordyn. He is a 9th-grade student at Morrisville-Eaton Middle School.

An avid sports fan, Patrick’s true passion lies in basketball, his favorite sport. Throughout the challenges of the pandemic, this wish has allowed him to stay connected with his friends. He enjoys spending time with them, playing video games, and watching movies.

The SUNY Morrisville Women’s Hockey Team will arrive at 11:00 AM to help install a special basketball court surface, made possible by Make-A-Wish National Partner Modutile. Several local partners, including Lan-Co Companies, who provided the basketball pad, along with Blast Works and its owner, Alex Brunet, Dick’s Sporting Goods, and MerchGods315 from Armory Square, have all contributed to make Patrick’s wish come true.

Patrick’s parents, Jenn and Peter, are very excited for his wish reveal day. “Patrick is one of the strongest and courageous people we know.  He was diagnosed and started the fight of his life!  This kid has “no quit” in his game of life and will figure out how to overcome any and all obstacles in his way. Most kids look up to their parents as inspiration, our family is the opposite.  Patrick is our inspiration. He never lost focus on defeating cancer and reassuming his life as he knew it.  He is our inspiration, and we could not be prouder of him!”

Make-A-Wish Central New York extends its heartfelt thanks to all the local partners, big and small, who play a vital role in bringing these magical wishes to life. As we embark on 40 years of granting wishes to children across our 15-county region, we are filled with gratitude for the generous community that makes it possible to fulfill the dreams of every eligible child.
