Clinton, NY — September 1, 2017

The Kirkland Art Center, a multi-art not for profit located in the historic community of Clinton, NY; announces an exciting new addition to the team– Timothy Rand, Marketing Director. This position is supported through generous funds granted by the Community Foundation of Herkimer and Oneida Counties, Inc.

Rand brings with him several years of experience in the arts and marketing. As a graduate of Fine Art at New England College in New Hampshire, Rand owns and operates Tarat Studio; a studio and gallery space which features exhibitions by Rand and other local artists. Rand’s appointment as Marketing Director is part of a broader initiative by the Kirkland Art Center to focus on growing the current programs and events as well as developing new ways for the community and surrounding area to become involved in the arts. His diverse experience in the arts, marketing and business will be an asset to managing the Marketing Department and expanding people’s awareness of the Kirkland Art Center.

“The addition of Timothy to our team will help us fine tune our marketing approach to more effectively reach our community and those wanting to be more involved in the arts,” says Megan Ratcliffe, Executive Director. “With his experience, knowledge, and personable attitude he will be able to provide a more seamless approach to the development and continuation of all that we have to offer at the Kirkland Art Center.”

About the Kirkland Art Center

The Kirkland Art Center was established over 50 years ago in the second floor of the town library as a meeting place. From the beginning there were classes, exhibitions, films, concerts and lectures. The KAC is now an active, regional, multi-arts center, located in an old church, barn and connecting addition, on the village green. The nature of the activities and mission has stayed steadfast, but with the support of the community, members, volunteers, funding sources and guidance from the NYSCA, our programming has broadened. Demonstrating quality, diversity and multi-cultural programming, both at our facility and off-site, the KAC has become a major cultural force in central New York and through cooperation with other cultural institutions has developed a network of services and opportunities for artists and art lovers of all disciplines.

Our Mission:

The mission of the Kirkland Art Center is to educate children and adults to advocate for artists and the arts, and to engage the community in a range of cultural experiences and opportunities.
