UTICA – The Home Ownership Center (HOC) will be hosting their 2nd Annual Block Party at the Empowerment Center located on 230 James St. in Utica, on Friday, June 9th from 4 p.m. – 6 p.m.
Join them for an evening of fun! Utica Police Department will be grilling for the community. You can also enjoy a fun and fruity lemonade stand and other goodies courtesy of Fidelis Care and Adirondack Bank. BB Designs will be hosting the Utica Love Design Lab where you will have the chance to graffiti a community wall, get your face painted, design your own tote bag, watch local artist Benny Garden create a master piece and purchase a Utica Love Coloring Book!
You can create your own seed bombs to enhance the beauty of our neighborhoods, experience two demonstrations by Karate USA at 4:30 p.m. & 5:30 p.m., mingle with magician J Charlz Magic and learn some quick and yummy recipes with the Jack & Mo Cooking Show! Lead Free MV and the Lead Poisoning Prevention Program of Cornell Cooperative Extension will also be demonstrating lead-safe practices and distributing free paint to participants thanks to Walmart, along with fun giveaways for the children and more!
Since the opening of the Empowerment Center a year ago, it has become a hub for community groups and other entities to gather and hold programming. We encourage you to stop in, meet your neighbors and see why we love Utica!
