UTICA, N.Y. (February 2nd, 2026) – The Boilermaker Road Race announced today the appointment of two new members to their board who will aid in the organization’s mission to assist in improving the physical and emotional well-being of the community through the Boilermaker Road Races and its various community programs. The new board members, Lauren Cupp of Hamilton College and Greg Evans of Indium Corporation, bring years of leadership experience and genuine passion for the Boilermaker.
Lauren Cupp, the head coach of the Hamilton College men’s and women’s golf teams, brings a remarkable record of leadership, competitive excellence, and community impact as she joins the Boilermaker Board. Cupp has guided her programs to national and conference success, including the 2022 NESCAC men’s title and multiple NCAA Championship appearances. A two-time NESCAC Coach of the Year, Cupp has coached four All-Americans and mentored dozens of high-achieving student-athletes both on and off the course. Beyond collegiate coaching, she is an internationally recognized speedgolf athlete and world champion, holding a world record and maintaining a number-one world ranking, while also boasting an extensive list of traditional golf championships.
“It’s an honor to join the Boilermaker Road Race Board. The Boilermaker is such a special community event and one I’ve had the privilege of growing up around and participating in over the years. I’m grateful for the opportunity to give back to an event that means so much to Central New York and to be part of its continued success.”
As executive chair of the board of directors of Indium Corporation, Greg Evans has played a pivotal role in shaping nearly every aspect of the company’s growth, guiding its evolution from a single facility in Utica, New York, into a globally respected electronics assembly materials manufacturer. Evans brings more than four decades of visionary leadership, operational expertise, and deep community ties to the Boilermaker Board. A recognized industry and community leader, Evans has served on numerous nonprofit and economic development boards and received honors including the SMTA Founder’s Award and the Oneida County History Center’s Living Legend designation.

“I learned early from my mentors that culture and care are what truly sustain an organization. The Boilermaker reflects that lesson beautifully — bringing people together across generations, backgrounds, and abilities in a shared celebration of health, perseverance, and joy,” said Evans, “I’m deeply thankful to the founders, and prior board members who shaped this remarkable tradition, and I’m excited to contribute to its future.”
“We are very pleased to have Lauren and Greg join the Boilermaker Board,” said Fred Matt, Boilermaker Board Chair & President of F.X. Matt Brewing Co. “They both have been tremendously successful in their careers and will bring a fresh perspective to the Boilermaker, as we continue to build on its nearly 50 years of success.”
