For the first time in 603 days, the War Memorial was packed. It was a sellout crowd to see the Syracuse Crunch play the Utica Comets in their home opener.

Although the team lost the game 2-1, it was still special to have the fans back in the stands.

The Stanley Cup was also in attendance for the opener. For a second straight year, the parent club of the Crunch, the Tampa Bay Lightning won the prestigious trophy. During the game, fans were able to take pictures with the Cup.
