It’s the end of another school year and the Study Buddy Club has once again earned its reputation as a source of motivation and assistance for Utica middle and high school students that are interested in keeping their grades up.
Our mission is to make a college education a real possibility for our students by better preparing them academically.
How to interact on a college campus and use the resources available will be second nature when our Study Buddy Club participants go to the next level. To make the successful social transition from high school to college as seamless as possible we regularly immerse the Study Buddies in Hamilton College’s campus environment. It’s a form of college prep we have used successfully for fifteen years.
Naturally, Regents courses can determine acceptance to college as well and a good Regents test score can guarantee admission to one’s chosen school.
Study Buddy’s this is the time to take advantage. Every Wednesday at the West Side Senior Center, located at 717 Court St. For The Good Inc. will be helping Study Buddy’s between the Grades 9-12 prepare for Regents exams with sample tests in each subject. During our Cursive N Crafts session we will also review Geometry, Algebra, US History, Global Studies and English.
This will certainly improve each student’s performance and will take the nervous edge off for those that experience anxiety in the testing process. So, guys, don’t wait till the last minute. Walk in to the test with your heads held high, well prepared, and ready to do great. I look forward to seeing you on Wednesdays.
