Stations of the Cross to benefit Ukrainian Aid

A special Stations of the Cross through the eyes of Mary, the mother of Jesus will be presented at Mary, Mother of our Savior Church, (formerly our lady of Lourdes) on 2222 Genesee St. this coming Friday, March 25@7pm

The concert will feature music by choir members of the Ukrainian choir of Utica, St. Joseph’s-St. Patrick’s of Utica and St. Joseph’s of Lee Center under the direction of Scott Rutledge and accompanied by Jennifer Evans Fitzgibbon with professional orchestra musicians and guest organ soloist Dominic Fiacco.

St. Joseph’s-St. Patrick’s director of music Andrew Suita commented that, “This event was originally scheduled at our church until significant repairs were discovered to be necessary to make our church safe. Father Joe Salerno was nice enough to offer the use of Our Lady of Sorrows church for these Stations of the Cross, and we are truly grateful. To be able to walk the Way of the Cross with Mary the mother of Jesus and bring these choirs together to provide such beautiful music is such a moving experience. We truly hope people will see and hear the deep level of reverence and love we have for Mary and her son Jesus at this very special time of the year. We also thought it was very important to be able to show our support for the people of Ukraine at this time and will take a Love Offering at the event that will go directly to aid displaced families in Ukraine”
