“As I have said all along – I will not support a funding package that fails to address skyrocketing health care costs, leaves my constituents vulnerable to unbearable premium hikes, and fails to rein in the lawlessness of the Trump administration.
As open enrollment begins, seniors and working families are feeling the real-world impact of the Trump budget bill. The largest cuts to health care in our history are driving up costs just as the subsidies that help millions of Americans make ends meet are set to expire. Passing another short-term extension without addressing these provisions will only make matters worse.
We must confront the health care affordability crisis. The Senate’s commitment to hold a vote on extending ACA premium tax credits is a step in the right direction, but it’s not enough — the House must do the same.”
