State Police is Investigating a Fatal Fire in the Town of Hurley
On March 19, 2025, at approximately 12:00 p.m., troopers from State Police Kingston responded to a report of a house explosion at Brueckner Lane in the town of Hurley. Upon arrival, troopers found the residence completely leveled and engulfed in flames. Multiple fire departments from Ulster County responded to the scene, along with fire investigators from Ulster County, the New York City Department of Environmental Protection Police, and the Ulster County Sheriff’s Office.
The investigation revealed that the explosion resulted in the deaths of Ralph Brueckner, age 75, of West Hurley, and Cheryl Hathaway, age 58, of Poughkeepise, who both succumbed to injuries sustained in the blast.
The incident is currently under investigation by the New York State Police, with assistance from the Ulster County Fire Investigation Unit. Anyone with information is asked to contact the State Police Kingston Bureau of Criminal Investigation at 845-338-1702.

State Police Investigating Fatal UTV Crash in Jefferson County
On March 19, 2025, at approximately 5:40 p.m., State Police in Watertown responded to a reported utility task vehicle (UTV) crash on County Route 30 in the town of Philadelphia, Jefferson County.
The preliminary investigation determined that Ryan P. Gleisner, 23, of Philadelphia, NY, was operating a 2025 Polaris Ranger XP UTV traveling south on County Route 30 when he exited the roadway. The UTV traveled through the west embankment into a wooded area, where it struck several trees. Gleisner was ejected from the vehicle and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The investigation remains ongoing.
State Police arrest Granville man for possessing Child Pornography
On March 18, 2025, State Police of Greenwich, with the assistance of the Troop G Computer Crimes Unit, the Internet Crimes Against Children Taskforce, and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, arrested Timothy W. Lapoint, 54, of Granville, NY, for Promoting a Sexual Performance by a Child, a class “D” felony, and Possessing a Sexual Performance by a Child, a class “E” felony.
Lapoint is accused of promoting and possessing images consistent with child sexual exploitation. His arrest followed an investigation and the execution of a search warrant at his Granville, NY, residence on March 18, 2025. The investigation stemmed from a cyber tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC).
Lapoint was transported to SP Greenwich, where he was arrested and processed. He was then transported to the Washington County Centralized Arraignment Part Court, where he was remanded to the Washington County Correctional Facility in lieu of $5,000 cash, $10,000 bond, or a $20,000 partially secured bond.
State Police investigate a Fatal fire in the town of AuSable

On March 20, 2025, an autopsy was performed at Glens Falls Hospital by Forensic Pathologist Kristen Landi, Medical Examiner. He positively identified the individuals who died in the fire earlier that day. The deceased was Elizabeth L. Shalton, age 65, and William E. Regazzi, age 65, both from Keeseville, NY. The cause and manner of death are still pending.

On March 20, 2025, at approximately 1:00 a.m., State Police responded to a fully engulfed structure fire on Margaret Street in the town of AuSable. Local fire departments extinguished the fire and were able to enter the residence. Unfortunately, they discovered two deceased individuals inside.
State Police spoke with the New York State Fire Investigators at the scene, who determined the fire was accidental and showed no signs of suspicious activity. An Essex County Coroner was present at the scene, who ordered the removal of the deceased.
Autopsies are scheduled for a later date and time at Glens Falls Hospital by Forensic Pathologist Kristen Landi, Medical Examiner to identify the individuals, as well as the cause and manner of death.
This is an ongoing investigation.
Bronx Man Arrested for Operating a Stolen Vehicle
Brooklyn, NY – On March 20, 2025, Troopers from Troop NYC, SP Rockaways, arrested Tymir Gordon, age 22, of Bronx, NY, for the following charges: Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle in the 3rd Degree, a class A misdemeanor and Aggravated Unlicensed Operator in the 3rd Degree, a misdemeanor.
Troopers were on patrol when they observed Mr. Gordon operate a Jeep Grand Cherokee with a defective headlight, swerve unsafely out of its lane. Troopers conducted a traffic stop on the Belt Parkway near Exit 11S in Brooklyn, in the vicinity of the violation, and found the Jeep he was operating was flagged as stolen from a car rental company in Massachusetts. Gordon was placed under arrest for Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle and Aggravated Unlicensed Operator (driving while suspended.)
Gordon was transported to the NYPD 63rd Precinct for processing and issued a desk appearance ticket to return to court at a later date.
State Police arrest two following Argyle vehicle break in
On June 20, 2024, State Police of Greenwich arrested Reagan R. Moon, 43, of Gansevoort, NY, for Criminal Mischief in the second degree, Grand Larceny in the fourth degree, Aggravated Family Offence, Criminal Contempt in the second degree, and Conspiracy in the fifth degree.
On March 18, 2025, Lynette T. Cameron, 39, of Lake George, NY, was also arrested for Grand Larceny in the fourth degree and Conspiracy in the fifth degree.
On May 25, 2024, at about 5:34 p.m., Troopers were contacted by a Washington County man reporting a past-occurring theft. The investigation determined on May 23, 2024, Moon and Cameron reportedly worked together to break into the victim’s vehicle, which was parked on Elm Street in Argyle, NY, and took items. During the crime, significant damage was done to the vehicle. The incident occurred while an active court issued stay away order of protection was in place against Moon, listing Cameron as the protected party. Moon also has a previous conviction of Criminal Contempt due to a previous order of protection violation within the last five years.
Moon was arrested at his Gansevoort home and transported to SP Greenwich for processing. He was then turned over to the Washington County Correctional Facility to await arraignment.
Cameron was uncooperative and a warrant was issued for her arrest as a result of this investigation. With the assistance of the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office she was located and arrested in Ballston Spa, NY and then transported to SP Greenwich for processing. Cameron was arraigned at the Washington County Centralized Arraignment Part Court where she was released on her own recognizance.
Traffic Stop Leads to Gun Charges in Yonkers

On March 17, 2025, at about 10:34 p.m., Troopers from SP Tarrytown observed a red 2021 Audi traveling on Central Park Avenue in Yonkers, NY, in violation of the vehicle and traffic law. During the traffic stop, Troopers located a loaded Smith and Wesson 9mm handgun in the glove box, which was illegally possessed.
The driver, Maurice W. Walker, age 23, of Ossining, NY, and the passenger, Zachary J. Bonner, age 23, of Ossining, NY, were both charged with criminal possession of a weapon in the 2nd degree, a class C felony, and criminal possession of a firearm, a class E felony.
Walker and Bonner were transported to SP Tarrytown for processing and were held for arraignment.
Two Arrested for Manslaughter Following Fatal Fire in Dutchess County
The New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation (SP Poughkeepsie), in conjunction with the Dutchess County District Attorney’s Office, has arrested Meredith Darcy, 55, and Dennis Darcy, 57, both of Hastings-on-Hudson, on two counts of Manslaughter in the 2nd degree (Class C felony) each.
The charges stem from a fatal structure fire on October 14, 2024, at a residence on Clinton Hollow Road in the Town of Clinton. The New York State Police, along with the East Clinton Fire Department and the Dutchess County Fire Investigation Division, responded to reports of a fire with entrapment. Four individuals—John E. Hubbard, 40, Shannon K. Hubbard, 35, and their two children, ages 3 and 1, all of Brewster, MA—were transported to area hospitals. Tragically, Shannon K. Hubbard and the 1-year-old child succumbed to injuries sustained in the fire.
A comprehensive investigation determined that the residence, which was being rented by the victims, was not properly equipped with functional smoke detectors, in violation of New York State fire, building, and residential codes. Fire investigators concluded that the blaze originated in the chimney flue and was not intentionally set.
Judge Michael Hayes presided over the defendants’ arraignment and set bail at $50,000 cash, $100,000 secured bond, or $200,000 partially secured bond for each. Their next court appearance is scheduled for April 7, 2025.
Human remains located in Windsor identified
On March 19, 2025, at approximately 12:48 p.m., New York State Police at Deposit with the assistance of the Broome County Sheriff’s Department responded to the report of possible human remains that were located behind the Windsor school bus garage on Main Street in the town of Windsor.
An investigation has determined that the deceased individual is Edward L. Crampton, age 68. No foul play is suspected in his death.
Crampton was reported missing in January after his family had not seen him since Thanksgiving time.
State Police conduct Underage Drinking Initiative in St. Lawrence County
On March 20, 2025, New York State Police conducted an Underage Drinking detail in St. Lawrence County. All of the businesses checked were in compliance and did not sell alcohol to an underage operative.

During these investigations, businesses are checked utilizing a Trooper in plainclothes and one or several underage operatives who cannot lie about their age or provide a false date of birth (if asked).
Two individuals arrested stemming from a traffic stop in the town of Norfolk
On March 18, 2025, State Police arrested Robert J. Donnelly, age 42, of Massena, NY, for criminal possession of a controlled substance in the 7th degree, and issued him a vehicle and traffic ticket. Also arrested was Nyrah H. Jefferson-Logan, age 33, of Fort Covington, NY. She was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the 7th degree, falsely reporting a catastrophe or emergency to an official agency in the 3rd degree, and receiving vehicle and traffic tickets.
At approximately 7:25 p.m. on March 18, 2025, Troopers observed a gray 2004 Ford F-250 traveling north on State Highway 56 in the town of Norfolk. A check of the vehicle’s registration revealed it was suspended. The Troopers initiated a traffic stop and interviewed the driver, identified as Jefferson-Logan, and the passenger, Donnelly. While speaking with the Trooper, Jefferson-Logan accused him of being a fake police officer. As the Trooper reassured her of his identity, she called 911 to falsely report that a fake officer had pulled her over.
A St. Lawrence County Deputy arrived at the traffic stop and conducted a free-air sniff with his K9. The K9 alerted to the vehicle, and a subsequent search uncovered narcotics and drug paraphernalia inside.
Jefferson-Logan and Donnelly were arrested and transported to SP Massena for processing. Both were later released on appearance tickets returnable to the Town of Norfolk Court for a later date in April.

UPDATE: The investigation has determined that the explosion and fire were accidental in nature. The primary cause was a significant amount of propane that leaked into the residence over an extended period of time.

Arrest Made Following Child Exploitation Investigation in Cayuga County
The New York State Police announce the arrest of Randy Foster, age 57, of Auburn, NY, following a comprehensive child exploitation investigation conducted by SP Auburn Bureau of Criminal Investigation, Troop E Computer Crimes Unit, Troop E Forensic Investigation Unit, and SP Auburn Uniform Force.
On July 24, 2024, State Police executed a search warrant on Miller Road in the town of Sennett as part of an ongoing child exploitation investigation. During the search, multiple high-capacity rifle magazines were discovered. Additionally, numerous electronic devices were seized for forensic examination by the Troop E Computer Crimes Unit (CCU).
Following analysis, investigators determined that Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM) was present on multiple seized devices. The case was subsequently presented to a Cayuga County Grand Jury on January 27, 2025, which resulted in Foster’s indictment on the following charges:
- Promoting a Sexual Performance by a Child (D Felony)
- Five counts of Possessing a Sexual Performance by a Child (E Felony)
- Three counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd: High-Capacity Magazines (D Felony)
An arrest warrant was issued by the Cayuga County Court.
On March 18, 2025, Foster arrived at SP Auburn to turn himself in. He was taken into custody and processed without incident. Upon completion of processing, Foster was transported to the Cayuga County Jail to await arraignment in Cayuga County Court.
