Edwards male arrested for burglary 3rd and grand larceny 3rd

On January 12, 2025, State Police arrested Eagen P. Baker, age 22, of Edwards, NY, for burglary 3rd, and grand larceny 3rd.

On December 13, 2024, at approximately 10:18 a.m., Troopers responded to Jim’s Auto located on New Street in the Town of Edwards for a burglary complaint.  An investigation determined Baker broke into the auto shop, stealing merchandise, and a vehicle from the parking lot.  Baker stole a gray 2011 Cadillac DTS and later sold it.  The vehicle was later located in a parking lot in Hammond, NY.  

Baker was arrested and transported to SP Gouverneur for processing.  He was arraigned in the Town of Fowler Court, where he was released on his own recognizance.


State Police Community Stabilization Unit Arrest New York City Man on Drug Charges Following a Traffic Stop in Plattekill

On January 8, 2025, at approximately 2:00 p.m., members of Troop F Community Stabilization Unit (CSU) conducted a traffic stop of a 2013 Chevrolet Cruze on Interstate 87 north, New York State Thruway, near exit 18 in the town of Plattekill, NY. The vehicle was observed violating numerous vehicle and traffic law infractions. 

Upon Stopping the vehicle, troopers identified the operator and sole occupant of the vehicle as James J. Harris, age 40, of New York, NY. A subsequent search of the vehicle, aided by K9 Rico from the Ulster County Sheriff’s Office, resulted in 152 grams of cocaine.

Harris was arrested and charged with Criminal Possession Controlled Substance 3rd Degree with Intent to Sell (B felony) Criminal Sale Controlled Substance 2nd Degree (A-II Felony) and multiple uniform traffic tickets. Following the arrest, Harris was arraigned at the Ulster County CAP (Centralized Arraignment Part) and remanded to Ulster County Jail with no bail pending legal proceedings.

State Police Community Stabilization Unit Arrest Two Bronx Men on Weapons Charges in the Town of New Paltz

On January 13, 2025, at approximately 1:15 p.m., on Interstate 87 north, New York State Thruway, by exit 18 in the town of New Paltz,NY, members of Troop F Community Stabilization Unit (CSU) observed a 2009 Kia Rio in violation of numerous New York Vehicle and Traffic Laws.

Troopers initiated a traffic stop and identified the operator as Julkrin Espinoza-Eslava, age 29, of the Bronx.  The vehicle was also occupied by two back seat passengers identified as Jose Guerrero-Zarate, age 29 and Yusmari Zapata-Rojas, age 21, both from the Bronx.  During the investigation, a vehicle search was conducted. Troopers located a loaded, Kimber Micro Carry .380, semi-automatic handgun and a loaded Beretta APX 9mm, semi-automatic handgun within the vehicle.  The Baretta APX 9mm handgun was later determined to be stolen. Espinoza-Eslava and Guerrero-Zarate were subsequently arrested and charged. 

Julkrin Espinoza-Eslava was charged with:

Criminal Possession Weapon 2nd degree (C felony)

Criminal Possession Firearm (E felony)

Multiple Uniform Traffic Tickets

Jose Guerrero-Zarate was charged with:

Criminal Possession Weapon 2nd Degree (C felony)

Criminal Possession Firearm (E felony)

Criminal Possession Stolen Property 4th Degree (E felony)

Espinoza-Eslava and Guerrero-Zarate were arraigned at the Ulster County CAP (Centralized Arraignment Part) and remanded to the Ulster County Jail on $100K Cash, $200K Bond, $300K Partially Secured Bond.


Caught on camera: Troopers look to ID burglary suspects

New York State Police at Endwell are looking for two suspects that burglarized a building that stores items for the Endwell Greens Golf Course.  The two suspects entered the building without permission on January 11 and took various tools.  The building was locked when the incident occurred.  One suspect appears to be an older male with glasses and the second person is covered up. They’re believed to have been operating an older model Jeep.  If you have any information call NYSP at (607)561-7400.  Case NY2500033224.

Three Waterloo Residents Arrested for Felony Burglary Following Break-In at Waterloo Highway Department

The New York State Police announce the arrest of three individuals for Burglary 3rd (D Felony) following an investigation into a break-in at 66 Virginia Street, Waterloo, NY, Seneca County. 

An investigation determined that on March 25, 2024, the following individuals allegedly entered the Waterloo Highway Department and caused damage to property therein. 

Don A. Trout, age 40, of Waterloo, NY. 

Michelle Geraghty, age 39, of Waterloo, NY. 

Robert H. Lotz, age 40, of Waterloo, NY. 

All three subjects were charged with Burglary 3rd (D Felony) and arraigned in the Town of Seneca Falls Court, where they were released on their own recognizance.


New York State Police Arrest Two Addison Residents Following Traffic Stop and Threat Investigation

On January 13, 2025, the New York State Police in Painted Post arrested Mary M. Stevens, 38, and Shawn Peterson, 32, both of Addison, NY, following a traffic stop on Interstate 86 in the town of Campbell, Steuben County.

Mary M. Stevens was charged with Obstructing Governmental Administration 2nd (A Misdemeanor), Resisting Arrest (A Misdemeanor), and traffic infractions. Stevens was uncooperative during the traffic stop and resisted when asked to exit the vehicle. She was processed at SP Painted Post and issued an appearance ticket for the Town of Campbell Court for February 10, 2025.

Shawn H. Peterson was charged with Making a Terroristic Threat (D Felony). During the traffic stop, Peterson called Steuben County 911 and made threats against the responding Troopers. Peterson was processed and transported to the Steuben County Jail for CAP arraignment. 

The investigation remains ongoing.
