New York State Police Arrest Pharmacist for Fraudulent Prescriptions and Illegal Dispensing of Medication
On February 23, 2025, at approximately 11:18 a.m., New York State Police at Endwell arrested Clyde T. Stevens, 46, of Binghamton, NY, following an investigation into fraudulent prescription practices at a Rite Aid pharmacy in Endwell.
The investigation determined that while employed as a pharmacist, Stevens illegally dispensed both controlled and non-controlled substances, including issuing fraudulent prescriptions. The inquiry began after the company identified discrepancies in medication distribution, revealing that Stevens had dispensed quantities exceeding doctors’ prescriptions on multiple occasions. These actions resulted in a financial loss of more than $4,000 to the pharmacy. Further investigation found that Stevens also unlawfully filled prescriptions for controlled substances that had never been authorized by a medical professional.
As a result, Stevens was charged with the following offenses:
• Criminal Sale of a Prescription for a Controlled Substance or of a Controlled Substance by a Practitioner or Pharmacist (Class C Felony – 5 counts)
• Forgery in the Second Degree (Medical Prescription) (Class D Felony – 11 counts)
• Grand Larceny in the Third Degree (Class D Felony – 1 count)
• Fraud and Deceit Related to Controlled Substances (Misdemeanor – 5 counts)
Stevens was processed at SP Endwell and subsequently transported to the Broome County Correctional Facility for centralized arraignment.
State Police arrest man for drug possession in the town of Rotterdam
On February 26, 2025, State Police arrested Mark J. Dority, 44, of Onondaga, for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 5th, and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 2nd (A felony) and Criminal Use Drug Paraphernalia.
On February 26, 2025, at approximately 3:15 a.m., State Police conducted a traffic stop on I90 westbound in the town of Rotterdam for a vehicle moving from the lane unsafely.
An investigation determined that the driver and sole occupant, identified as Dority, showed signs of impairment while being interviewed by Troopers.
During the investigation, a crack pipe, bags with a white, powdery substance and drug paraphernalia were located inside the vehicle.
Dority was transported to Schenectady County jail awaiting arraignment on February 26, 2025, and is due to appear in the Town of Rotterdam Court on March 27, 2025.

Worcester man arrested after physical domestic involving firearm
On February 25, 2025, New York State Police at Oneonta arrested Christopher Rayford, age 60 of Worcester, NY following a physical domestic dispute involving a firearm.
At approximately 9:30 p.m., Troopers were dispatched by the Otsego 911 Center to a residence on County Road 39 in Worcester. An investigation determined that after physically assaulting a victim, Rayford destroyed property within the home and shot several rounds into the ceiling. Rayford is also accused of taking the victim’s cell phone and preventing the victim from calling for help.
Troopers were able to take Rayford into custody and the victim was checked out by Worcester EMS for injuries on scene but did not wish to be transported to a local hospital.
Rayford has been charged with:
- Reckless Endangerment in the first degree (class “D” felony)
- Strangulation in the second degree (class “D” felony).
- Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the third degree (class “D” felony)
- Assault in the third degree (misdemeanor)
- Menacing in the second degree (misdemeanor)
- Criminal Mischief in the fourth degree – Disable Equipment to Prevent Emergency Call (misdemeanor)Rayford was processed and later transported to the Otsego County Correctional Facility for centralized arraignment.
State Police arrest Schenectady man for felony drug possession following Wilton traffic stop
On February 24, 2025, State Police assigned to the Troop G Community Stabilization Unit and, with the assistance of the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office, arrested Lateef K. Roberts, 25, of Schenectady, NY, for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the second degree and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the third degree.
On February 24, 2025, at about 3:56 p.m., Troopers stopped a vehicle on I-87 in Wilton, NY, for a Vehicle and Traffic Law violation. Roberts was identified as a passenger in the vehicle. Further investigation and with the assistance of Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office K9 Bush, Troopers discovered approximately 1.5 pounds of a substance, which later field tested positive as Methamphetamine among Roberts’s belongings. The controlled substances were seized, and Roberts was arrested at the scene. The driver was released without criminal charges.
Roberts was transported to SP Wilton for processing. He was arraigned at the Wilton Town Court and remanded to the Saratoga County Correctional Facility without bail.
State Police Arrest Mohawk Man on Multiple Felony Charges Following Domestic Incident
On February 13, 2025, State Police arrested Christian M. Callen, age 49, from Mohawk, NY, on the following charges:
- Arson 2nd degree (class “B” felony)
- Assault 2nd degree (class “D” felony)
- Criminal Mischief 2nd (class “D” felony)
- Strangulation 2nd (class “D” felony)
- Assault 3rd degree (class “A” misdemeanor)
- Endangering the Welfare of a Child (class “A” misdemeanor)
On February 13, 2025, at about 6:30 a.m., Herkimer County 911 received a call reporting a domestic dispute at a residence on Hicks Road in the town of Warren. According to reports, Callen set fire to the bedroom floor before entering his vehicle and ramming multiple cars in the driveway.
Upon arrival, State Police took Callen into custody and interviewed witnesses. A preliminary investigation revealed he had allegedly assaulted and choked a female victim during an altercation. An elderly witness stated they attempted to intervene and sustained physical injuries. During the incident, Callen ignited a section of the house, but people inside the household were able to extinguish the flames before police arrived. He then went outside and used his truck to ram two other vehicles, causing significant damage
Callen was transported to Wynn Hospital for a medical evaluation before being returned to the State Police barracks in Herkimer for processing.
Callen was arraigned in the Town of German Flatts Court where he was remanded to the Herkimer County Jail on $50,000 cash/$100,000 bond. Callen is due back in the Town of Warren Court on March 11, 2025, at 6:00 p.m.
State Police were assisted by the Otsego County Sheriff’s Department and Richfield Springs Fire Department.
