The New York State Police, SP Canandaigua, are actively investigating the disappearance of Sam (Samantha) Nordquist, who was last in contact with family at the end of January 2025. Sam, originally from Minnesota, traveled to New York in September 2024 and has since lost contact with loved ones.
**Sam was last known to be staying at Patty’s Lodge in Canandaigua, NY, and was last seen in early February. Sam could possibly be in the Geneva, NY and Canandaigua, NY areas, and is known to travel by bus **

Notable DWI Arrest Troop F: February1-February 12, 2025
On February 1, 2025, at approximately 3:00 a.m., Troopers from State Police Highland observed a 2010 Hyundai traveling northbound on Route 9 W in the town of Marlborough, operating in violation of New York State Vehicle and Traffic Laws. Troopers initiated a traffic stop and interviewed the operator Hruday Kiran Reddy Dadu, age 25, of Poughkeepsie, NY. Reddy Dadu was arrested for Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated, along with other Vehicle and Traffic Law violations. He was transported to State Police Highland for processing, where he recorded a BAC of 0.19%. Reddy Dadu was issued multiple tickets returnable to the Town of Marlborough Court on February 24, 2025, at 4:00 p.m. and released to a sober third party.
On February 2, 2025, at approximately 3:44 a.m., Troopers from the State Police Wurtsboro observed a 2014 Honda Accord traveling westbound on State Route 17B in the town of Thompson, operating in violation of New York State Vehicle and Traffic Laws. Troopers initiated a traffic stop and interviewed the operator Jose M. Sanchez Rodriguez, age 29, of Mongaup Valley, NY. Following the investigation, Sanchez Rodriguez was arrested for Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated, as well as other Vehicle and Traffic Law violations. He was transported to State Police Wurtsboro for processing, where he recorded a blood alcohol content (BAC) of 0.23%. Sanchez Rodriguez was released with an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in the Town of Thompson Court on February 24, 2025, and released to a sober third party.
On February 8, 2025, at approximately 6:56 a.m., troopers from State Police Ellenville responded to a one-car motor vehicle collision on Route 52 in the Town of Wawarsing. An investigation revealed that a 2007 Toyota Camry, traveling westbound on Route 52, veered into the eastbound lane before leaving the roadway from the shoulder and striking a tree. The driver, identified as Anatoliy Kurlat, age 50, of South Fallsburg, NY, was evaluated by emergency medical services (EMS) at the scene but refused medical attention. During the investigation, Kurlat was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated (DWI). Kurlat was transported to the State Police Ellenville barracks for processing, where he was uncooperative with the investigation and refused to provide a sample to determine his blood alcohol content. Further investigation revealed that Kurlat has a prior DWI conviction within the past ten years, making this offense a felony. Kurlat was subsequently transported to the Ulster County Jail’s Centralized Arraignment Part (CAP), where he was turned over to the custody of the Ulster County Jail pending arraignment.
On February 8, 2025, at approximately 2:40 p.m., Troopers from the State Police Kingston observed a 2012 Chevrolet Equinox traveling southbound on Route 32 in the town of Saugerties, operating in violation of New York State Vehicle and Traffic Laws. Troopers initiated a traffic stop and interviewed the operator Pedro Ventura Martinez, age 45, of Philadelphia, PA. Ventura Martinez was arrested for Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated, along with other Vehicle and Traffic Law violations. He was transported to State Police Kingston for processing, where he recorded a BAC of 0.23%. Ventura Martinez was released with an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in the Town of Saugerties Court on February 26, 2025, at 3:00 p.m.
On February 9, 2025, at approximately 10:50 p.m., Troopers from State Police Ellenville responded to a report of an erratic driver in the area of Buck Road in the town of Marbletown. Troopers observed a 2007 Ford operating in violation of New York State Vehicle and Traffic Laws, matching the description of the vehicle. A traffic stop was initiated and the driver Alex Delaura, age 59, of Stone Ridge, NY, was interviewed. Delaura was arrested for Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated, along with additional Vehicle and Traffic Law violations. Delaura was transported to State Police Ellenville for processing, where he recorded a BAC of 0.26%. The driver was released with an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in the Marbletown Town Court on March 26, 2025, at 5:00 p.m. He was later turned over to the Kingston Health Alliance for further care.
On February 9, 2025, at approximately 10:22 p.m., while conducting a Driving While Intoxicated checkpoint. Troopers conducted an interview of the operator of a 2023 Volkswagen. The investigation determined that the operator Michael Edwards, age 49, of Highland, NY, had driven to the incident location with two children under the age of 16 in the vehicle. Edwards subsequently failed field sobriety test and was transported to SP Highland for processing, where he recorded a 0.10% BAC. He was arrested for two counts of Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated with a Child (Leandra’s Law E Felony). Edwards was issued multiple tickets returnable to the Town of Lloyd Court on March 6, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. and released to a sober third party.
State Police arrest Albany for child pornography possession
On February 11, 2025, State Police of Latham, with the assistance of the Troop G Computer Crimes Unit, the Internet Crimes Against Children Taskforce, and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security arrested Frederick D. Bowles, 34, of Albany, NY, for Promoting a Sexual Performance by a Child, a class “D” felony, and Possessing a Sexual Performance by a Child, a class “E” felony.
Bowles is accused of promoting and possessing images consistent with child sexual exploitation. His arrest followed an investigation and the execution of a search warrant at his residence in Albany, NY, on February 11, 2025. The investigation stemmed from a cyber tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC).
Bowles was arrested at his home and transported to SP Latham for processing. He was then arraigned at the Albany City Court, where he was remanded to the Albany County Correctional Facility in lieu of a $10,000 cash, or $10,000 bond.
State Police arrest Colonie man for possessing child pornography
On February 12, 2025, State Police of Latham, with the assistance of the Troop G Computer Crimes Unit, the Internet Crimes Against Children Taskforce, and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, arrested Ethan J. Rupeka, 20, of Colonie, NY, for Promoting a Sexual Performance by a Child, a class “D” felony, and Possessing a Sexual Performance by a Child, a class “E” felony.
Rupeka is accused of promoting and possessing images consistent with child sexual exploitation. His arrest followed an investigation and the execution of a search warrant at his residence in Colonie, NY, on February 12, 2025. The investigation stemmed from a cyber tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC).
Rupeka was arrested and processed at SP Latham. He was then arraigned at the Colonie Town Court, where he was released under the supervision of the Albany County Probation Department.
State Police arrest Ballston Spa woman for allegedly stealing from her employer
On February 10, 2024, State Police of Saratoga with the assistance of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office arrested Heidi Howe, 46, of Ballston Spa, NY, for Grand Larceny in the third degree and Burglary in the third degree.
On January 3, 2025, State Police received a complaint from a Ballston Spa business reporting multiple thefts. The investigation determined that Howe was employed as a manager by Dunkin’ Donuts in Ballston Spa, NY. The investigation determined in December 2024 and January 2025, Howe allegedly entered the store after hours and without authorization on multiple dates and stole money from the business. Her actions reportedly resulted in the theft of more than $3,000. An arrest warrant was issued for Howe for the listed charges as a result of this investigation.
Howe was located by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and turned over to State Police. She was then transported to SP Saratoga for processing. Howe was arraigned at the Malta Town Court, where she was released on her own recognizance.
State Police arrest Halfmoon woman who allegedly used employer’s credit card without authorization
On February 11, 2025, State Police of Latham arrested Tina M. Flagg, 50, of Halfmoon, NY, for Grand Larceny in the third degree.
On November 24, 2024, at about 7:30 p.m., Troopers received a complaint from a Colonie business reporting fraudulent charges on a corporate credit card. The investigation determined Flagg, who was a former employee of the company, allegedly used the business’s credit card from 2021 until 2024 to make personal purchases without permission or authorization. The purchases were reportedly for Flagg’s personal utility bills and merchandise that was shipped directly to her home. Flagg’s actions allegedly resulted in the theft of more than $7,000 from the business.
Flagg was arrested and processed at SP Latham. She was issued an appearance ticket returnable to the Colonie Town Court on February 26, 2025, and released.
