On December 9, 2024, State Police arrested James Frangipane, 37, of Cohoes, NY, for:
- Eleven counts of Petit Larceny
- Obstructing Governmental Administration in the second degree
- Resisting arrest
On October 3, 2024, Troopers received a complaint of multiple larcenies from a store located in Brunswick, NY. The investigation determined the suspect, who was later identified as Frangipane, had reportedly stolen from the store six times from September 12, 2024, until September 29, 2024, resulting in the theft of more than $1,000 worth of merchandise.
Frangipane additionally reportedly stole from the same Brunswick store on:
October 4, 2024, merchandise was valued at more than $150.
October 18, 2024, merchandise was valued at more than $200.
November 19, 2024, merchandise was valued at more than $80.
November 26, 2024, merchandise was valued at more than $70.
November 28, 2024, merchandise was valued at more than $40.
On December 9, 2024, Troopers responded to the reports that Frangipane had returned to the store and was believed to be attempting to steal additional items. When confronted, Frangipane fled with the reportedly stole merchandise on foot into traffic on Hoosick Street. He was later located and taken into custody on Lord Avenue.
Following a medical evaluation, Frangipane was transported to SP Brunswick for processing, where it was discovered, he had an outstanding warrant related to a New York State Parole violation. He was then arraigned at the Brunswick Town Court and remanded to the Rensselaer County Correctional Facility without bail.
