
Join the history center and the St. David’s Society of Utica to celebrate Welsh heritage in Oneida County. Learn about the history of Welsh settlers in Oneida County and Welsh-American culture in the region today. This interactive celebration features a presentation on Wales and Welsh settlers, a teacake cooking demonstration, and advice on researching your Welsh ancestry. Come enjoy an afternoon filled with history, recipes, traditional costumes, and more!
This program takes place in the center’s main gallery on Saturday, November 18 starting at 1:00 PM.
The St. David’s Society of Utica is dedicated to preserving the Welsh heritage of central New York through the promotion of activities that are unique to Welsh culture and supporting efforts to preserve contributions made by Welsh-Americans in this area. Membership is open to persons of Welsh heritage and those interested in Welsh culture.
The Oneida County History Center, formerly the Oneida County Historical Society, is a private 501(c) (3) not-for-profit educational institution and is dedicated to preserving history and promoting the culture of the Greater Mohawk Valley. Admission to this program is free for the general public; donations are encouraged.
