On Friday, February 14, 2025, at approximately 7:08 AM, the Rome Police Department’s Patrol Division responded to 305 E. Dominick Street for a domestic dispute. When officers arrived, they spoke with a 31-year-old male victim who sustained a puncture wound to his back. The victim told officers on scene that he had been stabbed by his uncle, John Young.
The victim was transported to an area hospital for a non-life-threatening injury.
Young was taken into custody shortly after the incident and transported to Rome Police
Department for processing. Young was held for arraignment in Rome City Court, eventually being remanded to Oneida County Jail. Young has been charged with one count of Assault in The Second Degree and one count of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Third Degree.
