Rev. Karen Brammer of the Unitarian Universal Church delivered an inspiring
presentation during Climate Week. The session was titled “Turning Climate Angst into
Hope and Action.” It attracted many attendees, including members from the Mohawk
Valley and Herkimer Ecumenical Council, the United Council, NAACP, and various
community stakeholders.

The workshop focused on addressing climate change and related issues. Key topics
included water conservation, open space management, ecological preservation, and the
Importance of forming coalitions rather than working in isolation.
Participants received practical advice on sharing expertise and collaborating on joint
projects. One creative activity involved a worksheet named “Sacred Circles.” Here,
participants outlined their community’s needs, sources of hope, joys, and ways to
transform these elements into actionable steps.
