UTICA MHA TO HOST RENTERS’ RIGHTS & RESPONSIBILITIES WORKSHOP     APRIL 2

Utica, New York: The Utica Municipal Housing Authority AmeriCorps Program will sponsor a workshop to educate renters about tenant rights and responsibilities at 5:30 p.m.  Tuesday, April 2 at the Utica Public Library, 303 Genesee Street, Utica, Second Floor, Music Room. The event is free and open to the public. Parking is in the lot at the Park Street entrance of the Library. Light refreshments will be served. Free transportation can be provided for local residents.

The speaker for the workshop will be Melanie Goldberg, Esquire of Legal Services of Central New York.

The workshop will provide an overview of tenant and landlord law including leases, repairs, eviction process, fair housing, and lead issues. AmeriCorps members will be available to discuss housing search and assistance resources and programs available for community residents.
