Pro-Democracy Rally at the corner of Champlin Ave and Burrstone Road
Among More than 175 Events Across the Country
WHAT: On January 6, 2022, Indivisible Mohawk Valley will rally and call attention for our elected leaders to meet this moment and declare that in America, voters determine the outcome of elections. To prevent another January 6, 2021 type of attack from happening again, advocates are demanding that elected leaders pass urgent legislation including the Freedom to Vote Act, the Protecting Our Democracy Act, and the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act. This event in Utica is one of more than 175 events that will take place across the country, including at the U.S. Capitol. Here’s our message: Senators Schumer and Gillibrand, don’t get cold feet: pass the Freedom to Vote Act, John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act, and Build Back Better Act!
Pro-democracy advocates are welcome to join us in front of Utica College (corner of Burrstone Road and Champlin Ave) at 3-4 pm for our “Don’t Get Cold Feet, Democrats” rally. The public can also participate through our collection of warm socks, which will be donated to help our neighbors at the Morrow Warming Center in Utica as well as to soldiers who lay their lives on the line for our democracy. $6 buys one pair for our neighbors AND one pair for a soldier.
