In order to be eligible for an EHV, an individual or family must meet one of four eligibility categories:
1. Homeless

2. At-Risk of homelessness

3. Fleeing or attempting to flee, domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, stalking, or human trafficking

4. Recently homeless and for whom providing rental assistance will prevent the family’s
homelessness or having a high risk of housing instability.
EHV FAQS

EHV is a form of tenant-based rental assistance similar to the Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Program.

EHV is limited to the eligible population listed above. Certification of eligibility is required.

EHV referrals are managed through a direct referral process from the local Continuum of Care (CoC) planning body that coordinates housing services for homeless families and individuals. Please contact the CoC’s Coordinated Entry Specialist, Karishma Johnson at (315)922-2014 for all referral inquiries.

Participants selected for EHV are required to fulfill tenant obligations and must find a landlord within The City of Utica who will accept the EHV Program. Further assistance and landlord incentives will be provided with this program.
If you have additional questions regarding the EHV program, please contact Krystal Curley, City of Utica Housing Administrator at (315)792-1199.

A special thanks to the CoC collaborative agencies involved in this program.
Together, we can combat homelessness.
