Photography Exhibition at the Kirkland Art Center

An art opening reception will be held at the Kirkland Art Center on Sunday, March 1st, 2020 from 4:00 – 6:00pm featuring the work of two photographers. Artists Frank Vlossak and L.P. Pacilio’s work will hang in the KAC Gallery from February 28th through April 9th.

The exhibit showcases two very different photographers, with L.P. Pacilio’s black and white imagery capturing the essence of modern life – quiet moments sandwiched between the hustle of urban life. He catches the fine balance of today’s Italian culture, a melding of tradition, modern society and tourism.

L.P. Pacilio has made a career out of being a professional photographer, whether through journalism, documentary photography, commercial and residential architecture and more personal projects. He has been published in magazines and periodicals including Architecture, Progressive Architecture, Better Homes & Gardens, Metropolitan Home, Adirondack Life, Phoenix Homes & Gardens, Newsweek, Paris Match, The New York Times, The Guardian, Arizona Highways, Fine Homebuilding, and Historic Preservation.

In addition to his photography, Pacilio was the Director of Publications & Photography at Utica College as well as the Adjunct Professor of Journalism for fifteen years.

Frank Vlossak’s photography has a simple goal – to capture moments that grab the artist’s imagination. “It can be a landscape, an unplanned portrait, or just something that makes me question “What is really going on here?””

Photography has been a part of Vlossak’s life almost from the start. He went from taking
snapshots of family and friends to high school and college newspapers and yearbooks. From there he incorporated it into his manufacturing career implementing it as an instructional tool. “I see the world as a place of constant discovery and wonder – the camera allows me to capture a small sliver of that.”

The opening reception is free and open to the public. The KAC is located at 9½ East Park Row in Clinton, NY.

The mission of the Kirkland Art Center is to educate children and adults to advocate for artists and the arts, and to engage the community in a range of cultural experiences and opportunities.
