Oneida County Board of Elections Reminds Voters of Key Dates and Information for the June 25, 2024 Primary Election

 

Utica, NY – The Oneida County Board of Elections is reminding voters of important information and dates for the upcoming June 25, 2024 Primary Election.

Primaries in Oneida County

There are several primaries taking place in Oneida County this election cycle:

  • Democratic Primaries for:
    • Representative in Congress for the 22nd Congressional District
      • The new 22nd Congressional District includes the municipalities of Utica, Augusta, Bridgewater, Kirkland, Marshall, New Hartford, Paris, Sangerfield, Vernon, Verona (Districts 5, 7, 10 & 11 ONLY), Westmoreland, and Whitestown.
    • Member of the Oneida County Democratic Committee in Utica Ward 3, District 6.
  • Republican Primaries for:
    • Town of Deerfield Councilperson, 1-Year Term (To Fill a Vacancy)
    • Member of the Oneida County Republican Committee in the following election districts: Florence District 1; Kirkland Districts 6 and 9; Lee District 2; Marcy Districts 3 & 4; New Hartford Ward 1, District 3; Utica Ward 1, District 7 and Ward 6, District 2; Western District 3; and Whitestown Districts 4, 6, 7, 8, 9, 12 & 14.

Only voters registered in the parties and districts with a primary election are eligible to cast a ballot in the June 25, 2024 Primary Election. Voters can confirm their party registration, election district, and poll site information by visiting the New York State Board of Elections Voter Lookup Tool at: voterlookup.elections.ny.gov/

Voters can view sample ballots by visiting the Oneida County Board of Elections website at ocgovboe.net/whats-on-the-ballot/.

Registration Deadline

The deadline to register to vote in time for the election is June 15, 2024. Applications must be received by this date. Voters can confirm their voter registration status, update their voter registration, or register to vote by going to: ocgovboe.net/registration/.

Voting by Mail Deadlines

The deadline to request a ballot by mail is June 15, 2024. Voters who need a ballot mailed to them are encouraged to request a ballot in a timely manner to participate in the election. Voters can also apply for an early mail or absentee ballot in-person at the Board of Elections office until June 24, 2024. Information on voting by mail and applying for a mail ballot can be found at: ocgovboe.net/vote-by-mail/.

Once the Board of Elections receives the application, a ballot will be mailed to the voter with a return envelope. Voters have two options to return it for the election:

  • Mail back the ballot so it is postmarked on or before Election Day, June 25, 2024, and received by the Board of Elections within seven (7) days after the election.
  • Deliver it in person to the Board of Elections, any early voting site in Oneida County, or an election day poll site in Oneida County by close of polls on Election Day, June 25, 2024.

Early Voting

Early voting for the primary election will begin on Saturday, June 15, 2024, and will run through Sunday, June 23, 2024. Eligible Oneida County voters can cast their ballots early at the following locations:

  • Mohawk Valley Community College, Alumni College Center Room 116
    • Address: 1101 Sherman Drive, Utica, NY 13501
    • **Please Note: Voters with disabilities or mobility issues can utilize the Voter Drive-Thru to drive up to the Alumni College Center entrance and shorten their walk into the site.
  • New Hartford Town Hall
    • Address: 8635 Clinton Street, New Hartford, NY 13413

Both locations will be open during the following hours:

  • Saturdays & Sundays: 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
  • Monday, Wednesday & Friday: 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
  • Tuesday & Thursday: 12:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.

The Oneida County Board of Elections office, located on the 3rd Floor of Union Station, 321 Main St, Utica, NY, will be open during normal business hours and until the close of polls on each day of early voting.

Election Day

Primary Election Day is set for June 25, 2024. Polls will be open from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Voters can confirm their registration and Election Day poll site by visiting: www.ocgovboe.net/registration/.
