October 2026 Trading Card Shows Across New York’s Capital Region

Collectors looking for October 2026 trading card shows in New York’s Capital Region have a busy month ahead.

Events scheduled from Fishkill to Albany, Schenectady, Clifton Park, Saratoga Springs and Kingston will feature sports cards, Pokémon, Magic: The Gathering, One Piece and other collectibles. Many shows offer free admission, while several larger events charge a modest entry fee.

The calendar reflects the continuing popularity of both traditional sports cards and newer trading-card games. For Mohawk Valley collectors willing to make a day trip, several of the Albany-area shows are within reasonable driving distance.

What collectors can expect

Card shows typically bring together dealers, collectors and hobby shops selling singles, sealed products, graded cards, memorabilia and supplies. Some events focus heavily on baseball, football and basketball cards, while others give more space to trading-card games and pop-culture collectibles.

For newcomers, shows can be a useful way to compare prices in person, learn how card grading works and talk directly with sellers. Buyers should still research high-value cards before making large purchases. Condition, rarity, print variation and grading can dramatically affect value.

Tips before making the trip

  1. Check the organizer’s page the morning of the show for last-minute changes.
  2. Bring protective sleeves or a card case if you plan to trade.
  3. Know recent market prices for expensive cards before negotiating.
  4. Ask whether vendors accept cash, cards or digital payments.
  5. For younger collectors, look for shows that advertise free youth admission.

The October calendar gives collectors multiple choices nearly every weekend. For families, casual hobbyists and serious collectors, the shows offer a chance to browse, trade and connect with others who share the hobby.
