MVCC to host CNY Hackathon and FIRST Tech Challenge Teams

The Mohawk Valley Community College Utica Campus will be hosting two events this weekend for the students interested in a technical field.

On Friday, Nov. 1, FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) team members from New Hartford, Oneida, Richfield Springs, South Lewis, Rome, Utica, and Fayetteville middle and high schools, will meet the College’s faculty, tour the facilities, and find out what programs the College offers related to technology.

FIRST is an organization dedicated to inspiring the next generation of scientists and engineers to solve the technological problems across the globe. They structure several levels of robotics competitions, including FTC.

Students will be on campus from 6 to 9 p.m. in the Science and Technology, and Academic buildings. For more information, contact Jeff Birt, associate professor, School of STEM-Career; 315-792-5459 or jbirt@mvcc.edu<mailto:jbirt@mvcc.edu>.
