Mohawk Valley Community College’s Track & Field programs delivered standout performances at the NJCAA Division III Men’s and Women’s Outdoor Track & Field Championship, held May 7-9, 2026, at MVCC in Utica. The College of DuPage (Illinois) captured both the Men’s and Women’s team titles.
The MVCC Women’s Team placed seventh and the Men’s Team placed 14th overall out of 24 competing institutions — strong results that reflect the dedication, growth, and competitive excellence of the program. Several MVCC student-athletes earned national titles and All-American honors, breaking records along the way.

Women’s Highlights Chennia Locke: 100m Hurdles National Champion
Chennia Locke, a freshman from Jamaica, was crowned National Champion in the 100-meter hurdles with a winning time of 15.77, earning All-American honors. The title caps a remarkable debut season in which she consistently dominated the competition, earning both National and Region III Athlete of the Week recognition, and winning the Region III Championship before claiming the national title. Representing MVCC with pride, Locke has emerged as a leader within the Track & Field program, pushing her teammates to elevate their performance with discipline, confidence, and a competitive mindset.
Ava White: Women’s Pole Vault, Second Place

Ava White, a sophomore from Whitesboro, won second place in the Women’s Pole Vault for the second consecutive year, clearing 2.97 meters to claim two-time All-American status. As she concludes her career at MVCC, White leaves a legacy defined by consistency, leadership, and a commitment to excellence both on and off the track — from breaking school records to competing at the highest level of NJCAA competition.
Jaleea Garner: 200m Dash, Second Place; 100m Dash, Fourth Place

Jaleea Garner, a freshman from Rome, finished second in the 200-meter dash (26.35) and fourth in the 100-meter dash (13.11) to earn two-time All-American honors. She also made a statement at the Semifinals, breaking the school record in both events — running 12.49 in the 100m and 25.66 in the 200m, the latter breaking her own school record. Her performances cement her standing as one of the premier sprinters in the NJCAA and mark an outstanding finish to her freshman season.
Jazmine Brown: Women’s Shot Put, Fourth Place

Jazmine Brown, a freshman from Utica, won fourth place in the Women’s Shot Put with a mark of 10.55 meters, earning All-American recognition in her first national championship appearance. Alex Keller, a freshman from Sauquoit, won second place in the Men’s 3000-meter Steeplechase with a time of 9:57:97, earning All-American honors in a breakout season. Mason Beattie: Men’s Hammer Throw, Seventh Place
