MVCC to offer free Certified Production Technician training for long-term unemployed individuals
Mohawk Valley Community College’s Center for Corporate and Community Education is offering free Certified Production Technician (CPT) training to long-term unemployed individuals. This training opportunity has been made possible through a grant from the New York State Department of Labor.
CPT identifies individuals who demonstrate mastery of the core competencies of manufacturing production through successful completion of the certification assessments. The goal of the CPT certification program is to raise the skill level of production workers so that they may find higher-wage jobs while at the same time helping employers ensure the company’s productivity and competitiveness.
The 12-week program will consist of four individual certificate modules: Safety; Quality Practices and Measurement; Manufacturing Processes and Production; and Maintenance Awareness. All classes will be held from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. June 5 through Aug. 24, on the MVCC Utica Campus. Testing is scheduled on June 23, July 14, Aug. 4, and Aug. 25.
For more information or to register, call 315-792-5300 or visit mvcc.edu/cced. Office hours are 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
