MVCC hosting 5th annual Taka-Con for fans of all things ‘nerdy’
Mohawk Valley Community College will host the fifth annual Taka-Con, a convention for fans of all things “nerdy,” from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, April 26, at the College’s Utica Campus, 1101 Sherman Drive. Admission is free.
Taka-Con, presented by MVCC’s Anime Club, will be held in both Wilcox Hall and the Alumni College Center. It will include local vendors selling a variety of items, including pins, stickers, plushies, 3D-printed tchotchkes, and costuming and gaming accessories. Throughout the day, there will be panel discussions on such topics as fantasy worldbuilding, Asian culture, and streaming. Other activities include Nerdcore Karaoke, a Marvel vs. Capcom 3 Tournament, and a cosplay contest with prizes. Signups for the cosplay contest will start at 5:30 p.m.
