MVCC Concert Band to hold holiday concert

The Mohawk Valley Community College Concert Band will hold a holiday concert at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 13, in the Alumni College Center Commons on MVCC’s Utica Campus, 1101 Sherman Drive. This event is free, open to the public, and handicap accessible. The Concert Band, under the direction of Barbara Seaton, will play a mix of seasonal songs, carols, classics, and novelties.

New members are welcome to join the MVCC Concert Band beginning on Wednesday, Jan. 31 at their usual practice at 7 p.m. The Concert Band has been a non-credit offering of MVCC’s Center for Corporate and Community Education since 1978, and is made up of volunteer musicians of all ages, abilities, and walks of life. Other than occasional public concerts, the Concert Band performs several concerts each semester at area nursing homes, care facilities, and retirement communities, and provides the music for MVCC’s Commencement ceremony in May.
