Utica, N.Y. — Munson’s will offer its first free Art Alive! Family Day for the season from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 11, featuring art-making activities for families in the Museum’s Root Court, and the Pushcart Players performing “Stone Soup and Other Stories” at 11 a.m. and conducting a storytelling workshop at 1 p.m. in the Sinnott Family – Bank of Utica Auditorium. This event is free and open to the public.
“Stone Soup and Other Stories” is a lively and engaging performance that brings timeless folktales from around the world to life. With colorful costumes, music, and dynamic storytelling, the show highlights themes of generosity, kindness, and community. Centered around the classic tale of “Stone Soup,” this production also features other multicultural stories that spark imagination and empathy. Perfect for young audiences and families, the performance entertains while encouraging cooperation and critical thinking.
Art Alive! Family Days at Munson are held during school breaks as a way of getting kids and their families connected and familiar with the Museum.
Funding for Art Alive! is provided by the MetLife Foundation, Utica National Foundation, Preferred Mutual Insurance Company, Sheila and Ron Cuccaro, and Rona Lucas, in memory of Roslyn and Irving Levine.
An American Sign Language interpreter will be on stage at the 11 a.m. performance.
