Utica, N.Y. — Munson has planned a robust lineup of performances and events for the 2026-27 season, and tickets are now available.

The season kicks off with the first of three Keyboard Conversations with acclaimed pianist Jeffrey Siegel. In his signature concert-with-commentary style, he will present “Virtuoso Variations” at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 12, in the Museum of Art’s Sinnott Family–Bank of Utica Auditorium, exploring how a simple melody can be transformed into a work of dazzling brilliance. At 2 p.m. Oct. 24, Siegel will perform “The Romantic Music of Brahms,” featuring the exuberant Hungarian Dances and a selection of the composer’s poetic, deeply personal Intermezzi. The third performance, “Chopin in Paris,” will celebrate the artistry, elegance, and emotional depth that continue to make Chopin one of the piano’s most beloved voices at 7:30 p.m. May 1. Tickets are $32 for Munson Members, $38 for the general public, and $16 for students. Funding for Keyboard Conversations is provided by Dr. Lorna Grant, Nancy Horvath, Drs. Douglas Hurd and Cynthia Parlato-Hurd, Gail Kulaga, and Dr. and Mrs. Robert Menotti.
Munson will feature four concerts in the Sinnott Family–Bank of Utica Auditorium this season while Root Court renovations are underway. The first, taking place at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 21, showcases The Brother Brothers, a twin duo who blend contemporary folk with touches of bluegrass, Americana, and classic singer-songwriter traditions. Other concerts include On the Lash, delivering equal parts concert and celebration of the spirit of Ireland filled with lively jigs and reels, heartfelt ballads, and inventive arrangements that honor the past while embracing a modern spirit, performing at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 27; Caity Gyorgy, a three-time Juno Award-winner back by an exceptional ensemble, presenting an evening of swinging rhythms, heartfelt ballads, and irresistible melodies that evoke the golden age of jazz with youthful energy and remarkable artistry at 7:30 p.m. April 10; and violinist Adrien Chevalier leading an ensemble of phenomenal musicians, blending Gypsy jazz, French café music, and the rich traditions of European folk to deliver a performance that is both sophisticated and joyfully spontaneous at 7:30 p.m. May 22. All concerts are $30 for Munson Members, $38 for the general public, and $16 for students. Funding for Concerts in the Court is provided by Preferred Mutual Insurance Company and PJ Green, Inc.
Free Art Alive! Family Days, which include art-making activities, performances, and workshops, will continue to take place during school breaks. For Veterans Day, Pushcart Players will present “A More Perfect Union,” in celebration of America’s 250th anniversary. The Bindleskiff Family Cirkus will perform a whirlwind of classic circus thrills on Dec. 29 during Winter Break. The Dirty Sock Funtime Band, one of the country’s most energetic and entertaining family music groups, will perform during Mid-Winter break on Feb. 16, and Doktor Kaboom! will return to present “Under Pressure” on April 7 as part of Spring Break. All Art Alive! Family Days take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and are free and open to the public. Funding for Art Alive! is provided by the MetLife Foundation and Sheila and Ron Cuccaro.
The local Half Moon Orchestra will return for its fourth annual holiday classical concert, following three consecutive sold-out performances. The enchanting holiday concert will take place at 7 p.m. Dec 19, and 2 p.m. Dec. 20, in the Museum of Art’s Root Court. Tickets are $10 for Munson Members, $15 for the general public, $5 for children ages 6 to 12, and free for children 5 and under. 
The Met: Live in HD begins on Saturday, Oct. 17 with “Twenty Years of the Met in Cinemas: An Anniversary Celebration.” The Metropolitan Opera’s award-winning series of opera performances transmitted live from the stage of the Met into movie theaters worldwide will continue with more thrilling titles including “Macbeth” by Verdi, “Samson et Dalila” by Saint-Saëns, and “Manon” by Massenet. Individual opera tickets are $26 for Munson Members, $32 for the general public, and $16 for students. The Met: Live in HD is sponsored at Munson by Elizabeth R. Lemieux, Ph.D.
This season will also feature a Halloween-themed Munson After Dark from 9 p.m. to midnight Oct. 31, with DJ Roscoe Red, a costume contest, dancing, and drinks. The popular Oscar-Nominated Short Film Festival will also return March 6 and 7, and Munson will continue its celebrated weekly Film Series on Wednesday evenings and two showings on Fridays. There will not be any Wednesday afternoon showings through the fall as renovations continue in the Museum of Art.
