Rallies Across Over 2000 Cities and Towns Across the Country
Rome – Fort Stanwix Monument, in First Amendment Area
Utica – Intersection of Genesee & Memorial Parkway
Herkimer – 321 East Albany St.
Utica – On Saturday, June 14, people of all ages will join rallies in Utica, Herkimer and Rome. Community members will join what is expected to be the largest single-day mobilization since President Trump returned to office—a mass, nationwide protest rejecting authoritarianism, billionaire-first politics, and the militarization of our democracy. At the Rome event, speakers will address the power of non-violent protest in resistance against oppression and as a tool for social change.
All No Kings events adhere to a shared commitment to nonviolent protest and community safety. While locally we have experienced increasingly harassing posts and messages, over the past week especially, we are committed to our core value of a non-violent, law abiding, peaceful protest. We have affirmed our intention in coordination with the Rome Police Department and taken measures to hold our event safely within the designated First Amendment area at Fort Stanwix National Monument. We expect people of all ages to join us in exercising their constitutional rights to free speech and assembly.
The “No Kings” rally is a direct response to President Trump’s $100 million military parade birthday celebration, an event funded by taxpayers while millions are told there’s no money for Social Security, SNAP, Medicaid, or public schools.
Co-sponsors include: Indivisible Mohawk Valley, Oneida County Democratic Women’s Club, SEIU1199, The Interfaith Coalition, Citizen Action, and the Herkimer County Democratic Committee
