UTICA, N.Y. Job seekers across the Mohawk Valley have November hiring events for Mohawk Valley jobs to consider, along with free training resources and help preparing to apply.
This guide separates employer recruitment, workshops and training. An event listing is not a job offer, and a training announcement does not confirm that seats remain available. Check with the organizer before making a trip or changing a work schedule.
November hiring events and state-job workshops
Working Solutions’ Oct. 30 bulletin lists these events. All times below are local:
- Nov. 4: Upstate Caring Partners recruitment, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Herkimer Working Solutions, 320 N. Prospect St., Herkimer.
- Nov. 10: Civil-service and NY HELPS workshop, 1:30 p.m., Utica Public Library, 303 Genesee St., Utica.
- Nov. 12: Civil-service and NY HELPS workshop, 1 p.m., Frank J. Basloe Public Library, 245 N. Main St., Herkimer.
- Nov. 17: HP Hood hiring event, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Oneida plant, 588 Broad St., Oneida.
- Nov. 18 and 19: Mid-State Correctional Facility recruitment, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. each day, 9005 Old River Road, Marcy.
- Nov. 20: Oneida County DFCS job fair, 9 a.m. to noon, county office building, first floor, 800 Park Ave., Utica.
The library sessions are informational workshops, not hiring interviews. The bulletin links to event flyers, but some download links required a login when checked. Ask the organizer about registration, open positions and any documents to bring rather than assuming the same rules apply to every event.
A local opening with a listed salary
The Workforce Development Board posted a Re-Entry Peer Support Coach opening on Oct. 28. The full-time, grant-funded Oneida County position pays $55,000 a year plus benefits and includes field work and visits to correctional facilities.
The coach helps people returning from state incarceration prepare for release and connect with services. Listed minimum qualifications include an associate degree or equivalent coursework, certifications earned during incarceration, successful personal re-entry experience, discharge from community supervision, a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. Communication, computer and de-escalation skills are also required.
The posting calls for a resume and brief cover letter to HR manager Kandy Betti at kbetti@working-solutions.org. Review the full qualifications and training requirements before applying. No application deadline appears in the posting, so confirm whether recruitment remains open.
Free training: confirm the next start date
Herkimer College FastTrack Plus
Herkimer County Community College’s FastTrack Plus page describes free, short-term programs for Herkimer County residents age 17 and older. The program is offered with MVCC FastTrack.
There is an important date caution: the college’s page still lists summer starts and an advanced-manufacturing/CNC course marked for October 2026. Those listings do not establish a new November class or an open seat. Ask the college which courses are accepting participants now, where they meet and when they begin.
Use the interest form linked on the FastTrack Plus page. The college’s program announcement also lists 315-866-0300, extension 8620, and workforcedev@herkimer.edu for the Office of Workforce and Economic Development. Ask about any course-specific requirements before committing.
Commercial learner’s permit preparation
First Student’s permit-preparation page offers a free virtual preparation class and directs applicants to choose the state where they will work. The state-specific information covers tests, preparation and registration.
This is preparation for the permit process, not a commercial driver’s license by itself. First Student advises checking current rules with the state motor-vehicle agency. Ask the local employer about the remaining training, hiring steps and any costs not covered by the class.
Resume and interview help in Utica
Working Solutions’ Oct. 23 bulletin lists a Women’s Employment and Resource Center resume-and-interview session for Nov. 18, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., at 502 Court St., Suite 234, Utica. People who are not already clients must complete an initial screening before attending.
WERC’s program page describes coaching and job-readiness help for women entering work, returning to employment or changing careers. Call 315-724-1718 to ask about the screening, registration and available services.

Where to get local help
The Working Solutions location directory lists these career-center contacts:
- Utica: State Office Building, second floor, 207 Genesee St.; 315-793-2229.
- Herkimer: 320 N. Prospect St.; 315-867-1400.
- Madison County: 133 N. Court St., Wampsville; 315-363-2400.

Before applying, make a short checklist: the job title, pay, required qualifications, work location, shift, deadline and how the employer wants applications submitted. For training, add the start date, attendance schedule, eligibility rules and what completion actually qualifies you to do. Keeping those details together makes it easier to compare options and follow up.
Listings checked Oct. 31, 2026. Availability and schedules can change. This guide does not guarantee admission, licensing or employment.
