UTICA, NY – The Board of Directors of the Mid-Utica Neighborhood Preservation Corporation (MUNPC) is pleased to announce that Hilda M. Jordan has been appointed to serve as the organization’s Interim Executive Director. A longtime leader in the community and former MUNPC Board Chair, Jordan’s extensive experience and deep institutional knowledge will support leadership and operational continuity through this transition. Additionally, the Board has elected Kevin Alexander as the new Board Chair. Alexander’s partnership experience and community dedication are assets which will be essential in growing the organization’s social programming, including its key partnership in the $77M Cornhill Revitalization Project.
“We’re excited to have Hilda transition into the role as Interim Executive Director to continue in the development of not only our organization, but the partnership between MUNPC, the Community Foundation, and community members,” said Kevin Alexander, MUNPC Board Chair. “These leadership transitions will enable us to continue working together to define our plan of what’s possible and collectively create the thriving neighborhood we wish to continue living in and raising our families.”
Jordan has resigned from her role on the MUNPC Board to focus on staff leadership and program growth. The Board intends to begin a comprehensive search this spring to identify and onboard a permanent executive director.

Jordan, interim executive director. “MUNPC was founded over 45 years ago with a mission to facilitate healthy living and preserve Utica’s cultural history through strategic partnerships and social programming. I am excited to develop our core services alongside community partners at the Empowerment Center and the forthcoming West Street Impact Center.”
The Community Foundation of Herkimer and Oneida Counties, which awarded a $300,000 grant to position MUNPC for growth, supports the board’s strategic decision.
