“During my campaign announcement press conference on January 31 st I promised to crisscross the district and meet to and listen to constituents from all party affiliations. Well, that’s exactly what we’ve done. We have received positive and encouraging feedback from the folks we have spoken with, and they are hungry for new vision and leadership” stated Meyers.
From January to July, Meyers attended approximately 30 events ranging from participating in the Utica Boilermaker Road Race and American Heart Association’s Heart Run/Walk to attending Juneteenth celebrations in Utica and Rome to organizing a walk/run event to celebrate the birthday of the U.S. Army Reserve.
“Between placing over 1,000 telephone calls to constituents in the 53 rd District, receiving over 350 grass roots donations and personally meeting with several organizations such as Clear Path for Veterans, SNUG Utica, the Mohawk Valley Latino Association and Cazenovia Call to Action, we have come to understand the issues most important to the community. I’ve had many opportunities to interact with people all over the district, but I will never forget helping to distribute food and water to tornado victims last week,” stated Meyers.
