The first segment of this week’s episode of Hot Seat: Media Monday featured Johnny Calabrese, composer and lyricist of the play Crystal Clear, and Claire Bosley, who plays Tanya, one of the lead roles. Crystal Clear is a new musical being workshopped. A reading of the play will be presented on Friday, October 11th, at 7:30 p.m. in Strebel Auditorium. Admission is free.
The second segment features Utica University professor Laura Salvaggio and performer Dakota Wayne, who talked about the Utica Theatre Department’s Cabaret, which will be a featured event during Homecoming Weekend from 7:00 pm to 9:00 p.m. in the Strebel Auditorium. The event will feature singing, dancing, and stage performances by students, alumni, and families attending this year’s homecoming celebration.
Dakota Wayne stuck around for the third segment of Hot Seat: Media Monday, during which he talked about his gender-blind casting as the Wicked Witch of the West in Utica University’s production of The Wizard of Oz. We were also joined by Caleb Henning, who will play the Scarecrow in the play. Utica University, in association with Notre Dame High School, presents The Wizard of Oz on Thursday, November 7 at 7:30 pm, Friday, November 8th at 7:30 pm, Saturday, November 9th at 2 pm and 7:30 pm, and Sunday, November 10th at 2 pm in Strebel Auditorium. Admission is $20 for the general public and $5 for Utica University and Notre Dame students (with ID).
