Syracuse Police say they have arrested a Liverpool man in connection to a homicide earlier this year.
According to police, Carl Newton Jr., 35, has been charged with the shooting death of 31-year-old Jarrett Johnson.
Johnson was found inside a car on North Alvord Street with a gunshot wound on Aug. 15.
He was taken to the hospital, where he later died three weeks later on Sept. 5.
Police said Newton was taken into custody on Thursday and now faces a slew of charges, including second-degree murder and criminal possession of a weapon.
In addition, Newton has also been charged with attempted murder and criminal possession of a weapon for an unrelated shooting on July 28.
So far this year, Syracuse has seen 24 homicides.
