Madison County: TCE Program a Success for 2022

The Tax Preparation for Senior Citizens was once again a huge success. Many volunteers worked for ten weeks preparing returns at the Canastota Public Library, Caz Cares, Cazenovia, Hamilton Public Library, Oneida Public Library and Cornell Cooperative Extension in Morrisville. Thank you to the directors of these facilities for allowing space for this program year after year.

Through the efforts of 20 IRS Certified volunteers, the seniors of Madison County and surrounding areas had their returns both Federal and State filed for free. This service has been a long-standing grant that Cornell Cooperative Extension has been receiving for over 40 years. It is because of the grant and the dedicated volunteers that this year refunds to seniors totaled $1,046,025.00. There were over one thousand, (1,000) Federal returns prepared and an equal amount of State returns filed.

Thank you to all the volunteers who assisted the clients with their knowledge and experience. Without you this program couldn’t be offered.
