Letter to the Editor: C. Gehrig Jan 15, 2025

As 2025,begins let’s return to facts and truth that are continually misrepresented.  First, including of 3rd party votes, more people voted against Trump than voted for him. Second, believe what you saw last January 6th; a violent attack on our Nation’s Capitol. It disturbs me to see elected representatives who at that time spoke the truth, changed their rhetoric a few days later.

My first Presidential vote was for JFK. I have voted in every election since (local, school board, state and national.) I understand and want tconvey that we must use our vote as our voice. We MUST learn about all candidates and what they mean for us.

Why would any common working person think that the billionaire cabinet nominees will be working for us. As co-presidents Musk and Trump along with their selected  cabinet work to reduce government regulations and increase their personal wealth. They will weaken the safety protections of food and water safety and  reduce the progress made environmentally.

Their big plan which has nothing to do with our well being is to destroy our health care system along with Social Security, Medicare/Medicaid which we count on to remain self-sufficient. We as voters must do our research using reputable and verified sources; not billionaire owned platforms. Find the party that values working people.
