On the front page is Laila Edwards, star forward for Team USA in the International Ice Hockey Federation Women’s World Championship tournament going on in Utica at the Adirondack Bank Center. Laila is the first Black player to score for team USA and on Saturday night she scored her second Hat Trick, which is three goals in a single game. Team USA has dominated in the tournament winning last night 5-0 over Finland in the semifinals and 10-0 over Japan in the quarterfinals. Tonight the puck drops at 5:00PM in the championship round where Team USA faces off with Team Canada. Go Team USA! Go Laila!
Team USA lost to Team Canada 6 to 5 in the championship game Sunday night. Laila carried the team once again with her third Hat Trick of the tournament. Go Team USA!! Go Laila Edwards!! The Winter Olympics await!
