The city of Ithaca recently announced a guaranteed income program for unpaid caregivers, and the deadline for applications is this Tuesday at midnight.
The original deadline was extended for city residents who have questions or need more time. If you’re applying, you will need to meet income requirements.
From there, 110 applicants will be randomly selected to receive monthly cash payments for themselves and their families.
They’ll receive $450 a month for one full year. Hundreds of unpaid caregivers have already submitted applications.
The goal is to help those who are helping others in need during the pandemic.
