Ithaca College transitions to remote learning for first week

Ithaca College has joined a growing list of schools revising their plans for the upcoming spring semester due to concerns over the COVID-19 omicron variant.

The college will now start the new semester virtually, beginning January 24-28. Move-in for students has also been extended an additional week and will now take place in phases from Jan. 18-30.

In person classes are set to resume Jan. 31.

Students will be required to show proof of a negative COVID-19 test prior to arriving for check-in, as well as take a rapid antigen test at arrival for check-in.

Booster shots are also being required for students, unless they have already received a previous college-approved exemption.

Just last week, Cornell University announced it will be virtual for the first two weeks of the spring semester.
