Hot Seat: Media Monday; JenX: Curious About Welsh?; Quilty Witch, Black History Month; 2-2-26 S2:E21
This week’s 95.5 FM Hot Seat: Media Monday is about keeping culture alive — through language, craft, and community.
I talk with Jen Rizzio (Gen X), creator of Curious About Welsh?, about the Welsh word hiraeth and how learning Welsh became part of her healing journey through PTSD, neurological illness, and autism. Language as resilience. Creativity as therapy.
We also visit the NAACP Oneida County Branch 2167-B’s Black History Month celebration at Oneida County History Center, where local youth shared what legacy and pride mean to them — and why passing history forward matters.
Then I’m joined by Emily Hansen, founder of The Quilty Witch, who reminds us that quilting and herbal ritual aren’t just hobbies — they’re storytelling, resistance, and intentional self-care stitched into everyday life.
Culture survives when we participate in it.
